The U.S. Air Force’s Under Secretary Matthew P. Donovan will be acting secretary of the Air Force from Jun. 1 after the incumbent Secretary Heather Wilson resigns to become the president of the University of Texas at El Paso.

Donovan previously served in uniform as a F-15C demonstration pilot and commanding officer of the 95th Fighter Squadron.
