VX-23 testing conformal fuel tanks on Salty Dog 125

The U.S. Navy has tested conformal fuel tanks on Salty Dog 125 this year, an article by Cmdr. Daniel “Butters” Radocaj revealed.

Test pilots at VX-23 had to verify the Super Hornet’s up-and-away and powered-approach modes were affected with the tanks installed.

The article also disclosed that the AIM-9X Block II missiles were fired from stations 2 and 10 and the weapon separation of the AGM-84D Harpoon will be carried out later this year.
