The U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division intends to add a new CH-47 battalion into its ranks to perform assaults.

The division’s leader Maj. Gen. Brian E. Winski said this during a session of the 2019 Maneuver Warfighter Conference at McGinnis-Wickam Hall.
A total of 36 CH-47s will be in this new unit.
