The U.S. Navy has given two Demonstration of Existing Technology contracts to BAE Systems and Raytheon to develop a new dual band Fiber-Optic Towed Decoy (FOTD) for the Super Hornet.

Raytheon will base its design on the ALE-50 while BAE will further improve the ALE-55.
