The U.S. Air Force has confirmed that one of its Bombardier E-11A aircraft was lost in Afghanistan.

The aircraft went down in Taliban-controlled territory in eastern Afghanistan on Jan. 27.
The service has four of these aircraft carrying the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node.
