The U.S. Air Force Gunsmith Shop has completed the delivery of approximately 2,700 GAU-5A rifles. Known as the Aircrew Self Defense Weapon, the rifle can be fitted inside the seat kit of ACES 2 ejection seats.

Upon reaching ground after ejection, any aircrew member can put together the GAU-5A in 30 seconds. The weapon can hit a man size target at 200 meters.
