PHASA-35 has flown for the first time

BAE Systems has completed the maiden flight of its PHASA-35 unmanned air vehicle. The 35m wingspan solar-electric aircraft took to the air at RAAF Woomera Test Range in South Australia.


Funded by Britain’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) and Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), the PHASA-35 is designed to stay airborne for up to a year.
