Kratos begins production of XQ-58A despite delay of contract award from USAF

Kratos says its has started production of its XQ-58A attritable unmanned air vehicle despite delays in getting a contract from the U.S. Air Force.

During an earnings call on Feb. 25, the company said the setback was due to the investigation into October 2019 mishap which the parachute recovery system failed to work properly.

CEO Eric DeMarco added that he expects “orders for a total of approximately 30 XQ-58 drones within the next 18 months.”
