U.S. Navy fires courageous captain of USS Theodore Roosevelt

Acting U.S. Navy Secretary Thomas Modly has removed the captain of aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt from his post, citing loss of confidence in Capt. Brett Crozier’s ability to lead his crew.

Brett Crozier addresses the crew for the first time as commanding officer of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) during a change of command ceremony on the ship’s flight deck. Crozier had sent an email to navy leadership, pleading for help to save his crew from COVID19 infections. The letter was leaked to the press and Modly says that lead to panic to families of the crew members.
