Retired aerospace engineer Richard A. Passman has passed away on Apr. 1 due to complications of the COVID-19.

Passman worked in various programs and was the chief designer of the Bell X-16. Working at General Electric, the developed the developed re-entry vehicles for CORONA spy satellite.
After retirement, he co-wrote the X-15 book with John D. Anderson.
