The U.S. Air Force has announced a new weapons system designator, the “e” series, on Sept. 14.
This designator will be applied on aircraft, weapons and satellites that are digitally engineered and virtually tested before the first steel is cut.
Being the first to use this process, the Boeing Red Hawk advanced jet trainer will be designated as eT-7A.
