Capt. Matthew Arny, CO of NAS Whidbey Island, briefed members of the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce on future developments at the naval air station.
Arny disclosed that the mission of the EP-3E will be taken over by the MQ-4C from 2024. Therefore, VUP-11 will not reach IOC until that date and VAQ-1 retirement has been pushed back as well.
