Former F/A-18 driver is first USAF F-35A pilot to clock 1,000 hours on the stealth fighter

Lt. Col. Jared Santos became the first U.S. Air Force pilot to reach 1,000 flying hours in the F-35A on Oct. 22.

Santos had nearly 800 hours in the F/A-18 during an exchange program with the U.S. Marine Corps before he converted to the F-35A.
