The Sri Lanka Air Force’s No 9 Attack Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda celebrated its silver jubilee on Nov. 24.
The unit stood up on that day in 1995 with 3 Mi-24 gunships. It suffered heavy losses during the civil war, one of the commanding officers, Wing Commander Jagath Rodrigo, was killed in action.
