The helicopters were flown from Boeing’s Mesa facility to Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) over a period of three days.

The Version 6 of the Apache model E has an improved Lockheed-Martin Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision System (MTADS/PNVS), which includes a new integrated infrared laser for easier target designation and enhanced infrared imagery capabilities.

The resolution and field of view for the Day Sensor Assembly has been improved and it now has color capability. The gunner can now clearly identify objects and personnel at over 20km under the right conditions.

The Longbow Fire Control Radar (FCR) also gained a maritime capability. It can now track vessels out at sea. The range of the Longbow has increased as well.
