Mike Durant of Black Hawk Down fame talks about his role during Desert Storm

On the 30th anniversary of Desert Storm, retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Mike Durant spoke about his role during the war in the Gulf.

Assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Group (Airborne), Durant together with Cliff Wolcott were the only two UH-60 Direct-Action Penetrators Pilot in Command during the war.

Their job was to provided escort and direct action attack operations for Delta Force operating deep inside Iraq. Searching for Scud missiles, Durant was the first Black Hawk pilot to fire shots at the Scud during one mission.
