A USMC battalion was able to download data from RQ-4 during a field exercise

The U.S. Marine Corps is now able to download data from an airborne RQ-4 unmanned aerial vehicle after verifying the capability during a field exercise held at Bouge, North Carolina last month.

The 2nd Intelligence Battalion of the II Marine Expeditionary Force overcame a hardware failure to obtain the information in a communications denied or degraded environment.

More testing events are scheduled through April between the two services.
