Taiwan’s PAC-3 unit can deployed in 25 minutes

Taiwan recently held a combat readiness exercise and the Ministry of National Defense’s Military News Agency has produce a video of the exercise. In the video, an officer in charge of a PAC-3 battery describe how his unit can be deployed for combat in 25 minutes and the battery is operational in 70 minutes.


In another segment, it was disclosed that the indigenous CS/MPQ-90 Bee Eye radar has a search range of 54 km and a target engagement range of 5 km. This X-band active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar was developed by the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST). The Army integrates the radar with its AN/TWQ-1 Avenger missile batteries. An Avenger operator is able to identify the target and fire the missile at it in 13 seconds.
