Raytheon has delivered the first APG-79(V)4 prototype to USMC

The APG-79(V)4 AESA radar prototype has been delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps for testing on the F/A-18C/D.

While using the same parts and technology as the AN/APG-79 radar used in the Navy’s Super Hornet, the APG-79(V)4 has gallium nitride (GaN) Transmit/Receive Modules in its array.
