The last serving USAF POW has retired

Lt. Col. Rob Sweet, the last serving U.S. Air Force prisoner of war (POW), had his retirement ceremony on Jun. 6.

Sweet was shot down on his 30th mission during Operation Desert Storm and was held captive for 19 days. He retired as the deputy commander of the 476th Fighter Group at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia.
