The first upgrade ex-Swiss Air Force F-5N+ fighter has arrived at NAS Patuxent River for ground and flight testing.

This is the first of three F-5Ns prototypes that will have modernized cockpit, avionics, and supporting aircraft architecture.
All 16 F-5E and six F-5F fighters that the U.S. Navy had acquired from Switzerland will undergo the same upgrade upon completion of testing. They will then be designated as F-5N+/F+.
