USMC simulates deployment of NMESIS in Japan during joint exercise with JSDF

Japan is conducting a joint exercise with U.S. forces in the Kagoshima prefecture. A handout provided by the Japanese Joint Staff office shows one of the exercise itenary being an anti-ship missile deployment with the U.S. Marine Corps.


The photos show the Marines deploying a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) to Kanoya Air Base by KC-130Js. This is possibly done to simulate the deployment and firing of the unmanned NMESIS anti-ship missile platform.

During this period, a scaneagle operated by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force was lost on the night of Nov. 23.
