Vice commander of 47th Flying Training Wing was involved in T-38 crash

It has been disclosed that Col. Nathan A. Thompson, vice commander of the 47th Flying Training Wing, was involved in the crash of two T-38s on Nov. 19.

The two jets were doing a formation approach when a mid-air collision occurred. One of the jet fell onto the ground upside down.

Thompson was not seriously injured in the accident. A student pilot did not survive the crash.
