A draft Request for Proposals was published recently for the spacecraft, called the Cislunar Highway Patrol System (CHPS) satellite. The satellite will expand the USSF’s space domain awareness by one thousand times.

The Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate will be in charge of developing CHPS.

“Our goal is to create a satellite that will become critically important as the U.S. supports civil and commercial efforts in the Cislunar domain,” said Michael Lopez, CHPS program manager.
