Taiwan’s next-generation fighter to debut in 2025, will use new powerplant from GE or RR

Taiwan has initiated the program to develop a next-generation fighter aircraft under project 303. The air force has determined that a new power plant based on the F125 is insufficient to meet the needs of the new jet.

Therefore, Taiwan will import new turbofan engines to meet the propulsion needs of its new fighter, which is set to debut in 2025.

Design work is set to initiate in 2023.
