The Finnish Defence Forces has launched a program to procure 1,000 – 2,000 unmanned air vehicles that are “capable of operating throughout the year in all weather conditions.”

The drones will be dispersed to operate from southern coast of the country up to northernmost Lapland.
They will be used by different services’ units and service branches for intelligence, surveillance and target acquisition missions.
Interested manufacturers will have to submit their applications to the Defence Forces’ Logistics Command on the portal Hankintailmoitukset.fi and on international notice boards.
The deal is expected to be worth $15 million and a winner will be selected in the summer of 2023 and training will commence shortly after that.
