Dad teaches son to fly the F-16

1st Lt. Nathan Thomas is attending the F-16 B-course at 162nd Wing, the unit where his father, Lt. Col. Joseph Thomas, is serving as an F-16 instructor.

“Halfway through his training, I got to fly Red Air for a mission he was on. So I got to be a training aid for him, and that was really fun,” said the senior Thomas.

  1. So long a go that I saw “bear” at that moment Lt.Col. Thomas was a exchange pilot at the RNLAF and we were both in Afghanistan at Kabul airport. LT.Col Thomas as F-16 pilot and me as F-16 crew chief.. would love to say hi great times and fond memories i’ve got with Bear.
