AARGM-ER engages moving maritime target on 4th flight test

On Nov. 30, Northrop Grumman successfully completed the fourth flight test of its AGM-88G Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile Extended Range (AARGM-ER) at the Point Mugu Sea Range off the coast of southern California. The U.S. Navy launched the missile from an F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft, successfully hitting a moving maritime target that was representative of operational conditions.

The AARGM-ER is an upgraded version of the existing AARGM missile that incorporates a new high-performance air vehicle, solid rocket motor, and advanced warhead. The AARGM-ER leverages the sensors, electronics, and digital models of the original AARGM to provide a more effective weapon system with extended range.
