Last surviving Chinese pilot to serve with 23rd Fighter Group during WW2 has passed away

The last surviving Chinese pilot who was assigned to the 23rd Fighter Group during the Second World War has passed away in Hong Kong.

Chen Ping Ching was 105 years-old. He flew for th 75th Fighter Squadron during the war and is considered a member of the Flying Tigers.

The 23rd Fighter Group was formed after the American Volunteer Group “Flying Tigers” (AVG) was disbanded in 1942.
