An AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile was fired from Station 1 and an AIM-9X from Station 9 over the Eglin Test and Training Complex’s water range by pilots from the 96th Test Wing.

During the first test of its kind, the Air Force verified that weapons could be fired effectively and safely from those stations. The successful launch of these weapons demonstrated the aircraft’s ability to carry and use a total of 12 air-to-air missiles.

The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) was the first customer to activate weapon stations 1 and 9 for its F-15SA.
