MD Helicopters is excited to announce that it is increasing production line capabilities and staffing to meet additional sales orders, including the 12 Cayuse Warrior Plus scout/attack helicopters recently awarded by the Nigerian Army. These helicopters will support counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations in Nigeria.
To facilitate production, MDH has restructured its production facility and plans to hire more than 120 employees. This expansion will also enable the company to fulfill additional large aircraft orders and seize strategic customer engagement opportunities.
Brad Pedersen, President and CEO at MD Helicopters, expresses gratitude for the Nigerian government’s trust and is eager to showcase the purpose-built, light attack aircraft solution to Nigeria and the world. Pedersen states that MD Helicopters has streamlined production processes to respond directly to the current and planned increase in aircraft orders.
The Cayuse Warrior Plus, an upgraded version of the original Cayuse Warrior, is a combat-proven tactical scout and light attack aircraft with unmatched power, safety, speed, agility, and unparalleled confined area capabilities. Enhancements include sensors, weapons systems, avionics improvements, armor, and increased power performance.
The Nigerian Army will utilize these helicopters for various missions, including area security, tactical reconnaissance, convoy escort, and drug interdiction. As part of the Nigerian selection, MDH will provide a complete ILS package, spares, pilot and maintainer training, as well as a Flight Training Device (FTD).
