A member of the Italian Air Force aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori was killed in a crash of an ultralight on Apr. 29.
Capt. Alessio Ghersi was flying a Pioneer 300 registration I-8548 along with a relative when the aircraft went down off take off from Campoformido around 6:30 pm local time.
Ghersi flies as the second Wingman right or Pony 5 position in the Frecce Tricolori.
The team has canceled its May 1st opening event for the new season.
