Lockheed Martin has been flight testing a new laser beam control turret that will allow future combat aircraft to have 360-degree coverage for high-energy laser weapons.

The Aero-adaptive Aero-optic Beam Control (ABC) turret was flown on University of Notre Dame’s Airborne Aero Optical Laboratory Transonic Aircraft in Michigan for eight times.
