A series of flight testing over the Point Mugu Sea Range from Apr. 18-29 help the U.S. Navy validate two sets of software configuration for the F/A-18 and EA-18G.

The first set of software: 27C, is designed for use in F/A-18A-D Hornets; H12 is for F/A-18F Super Hornets and EA-18G Growlers.
Cmdr. Kevin McGee explained that the H12 software configuration set brings “more than 35 capabilities.”
