Mainichi reports that a working team from Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its junior coalition partner Komeito have agreed in principal to a plan to replace 99 F-15s with the F-35.

The news report added that some of those F-35s will be the B-model.
The team however did not make any decision of converting the Izumo into an aircraft carrier as the government officials’ explanations of the plan differed from their past Diet testimonies.
