Six F-35Bs will arrive at Nyutabaru Air Base in 2024

Japan will deploy six F-35Bs at Nyutabaru Air Base in 2024, two more are to arrive there in 2025, local news reports say.

There will be a squadron of 20 aircraft eventually at the base in Miyazaki Prefecture.

The facility was chosen due to its proximity to a Field Carrier Landing Practice facility that Japan is building for the U.S. military at Mageshima island.
