Russia has started the construction of a Rezonans-NE VHF radar on a hilltop northeast of Korzunova airbase.
Work on the site started in July 2021 according to satellite photos. The radar, once completed, will have enough range to watch over Rovaniemi and Evenes. These two locations are current and future bases for the F-35.
