GA-ASI’s LongShot proposal enters Phase 2
The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) LongShot program has selected General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) proposal for Phase 2 in March. DARPA had stated that the LongShot program aims to show that an unmanned air-launched vehicle can use air-to-air weapons to take down enemy aircraft. This will increase the range and effectiveness of air superiority missions.

JSDF deploys Type 03 surface-to-air missiles to Ishigaki Island
On Mar. 5, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) moved approximately 150 vehicles, including launchers for surface-to-ship and surface-to-air guided missiles, to its new base on Ishigaki Island in Okinawa Prefecture, news media in Japan reported.

MiG-15 loses canopy during take off
A two-seater MiG-15 warbird lost its canopy after taking off from Fairhope Airport on Mar. 4. Luckily, the piece of glass landed in an unpopulated area and was retrieve by airport personnel.
