Sweden will enter negotiations to buy Patriot

The Swedish government has decided to procure the MIM-104 Patriot air defense missile system from Raytheon and the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) has been authorized to enter negotiations with the U.S. government.

U.S. Army Soldiers, with the 5th Battalion 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, stage “Patriot” missile defense systems for a “Patriot Shock” exercise in Capu Midia, Romania on November 4, 2016. The weeklong exercise tests the unit’s quick response deployment readiness and increases joint interoperability with “Patriot” missile systems and their Romanian partners. (DoD News photo by Tech.
