U.S. Army gave Raytheon $624 million contract for FIM-92 Stinger missiles

The U.S. Army has awarded a $624 million contract to Raytheon on May 25 to procure the FIM-92 Stinger man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS).

OKINAWA, Japan – A U.S. Army Green Beret with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), fires a training round with the Stinger Missile System during a field exercise hosted by the Marine Low Altitude Air Defense Unit on Sept. 9, 2021 at Okinawa, Japan. This realistic training familiarizes Green Berets with the portable air-defense system and gives them the ability to rapidly deploy it in diverse environments across the Indo-Pacific. 50kW-class high energy laser defeated multiple 60mm mortar rounds and drones during testing

A 50kW-class high energy laser integrated on a Stryker has shown that the weapon can defeat 60mm mortar rounds and drones during four weeks of continuous live-fire exercises at White Sands Missile Range.
