USN soliciting for short-range air defense laser

The U.S. Navy’s Office of Naval Research has released a formal industry solicitation for a vehicle-mounted on-the-move short-range air-defense laser system to defeat Low Observable/Low Radar Cross Section (LO/LRCS) threats to a Marine Corps Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF).

U.S. deploying THAAD to Guam

The U.S. Defense Department said in an e- mailed statement on Apr. 3 that a THAAD system will be deployed to Guam in coming weeks as a “precautionary move” against North Korea’s ballistic missile threat.

SBX moving closer to North Korea

U.S. officials say the Sea-based X-band radar is being moved closer to North Korea. USS John S. McCain will be deployed in the Korean peninsular to provide BMD coverage as well.
