A U.S. military weather satellite apparently exploded in 43 pieces while in orbit on Feb. 3, the U.S. Air Force has confirmed.

WWII pilot reunited with P-47
Retired Air National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 2 Robert Hertel, who flew the P-47 while stationed in Iwo Jima, Japan, was reunited with the Thunderbolt during the Heritage Flight Training and Certification Course at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on Feb. 28.
