USAF has transferred 5 RQ-4 Block 30s to Northrop Grumman for the Sky Range program

Five RQ-4 Block 30 unmanned air vehicles assigned to the 319th Reconnaissance Wing at Grand Forks Air Force Base have been transferred to Northrop Grumman for the Sky Range program

Airmen assigned to the 319th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron from Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota, perform a maintenance check June 6, 2022, on an RQ-4 Block 30 Global Hawk remotely piloted aircraft at Grand Sky on Grand Forks Air Force Base. The RQ-4 Block 30s will be used at the Test Resource Management Center’s High Speed System Test Department. B-52 getting a Iridium satellite terminal

Engineers from the 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron have carried out the first aerial test of the IRIS beyond line of sight communication terminal on the B-52.

Sam Denison, a senior software developer at the 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron at Barksdale AFB, La., installs a beyond line of sight communications system, called IRIS, into a B-52 at Barksdale AFB, La., June 22, 2022. The 49th TES conducted the first aerial demonstration of the IRIS system while the 608th Air Operations Center monitored and assessed the data, voice and imagery relays from the aircraft.
