China sends J-10s and J-11s across middle line of Taiwan Strait as U.S. Health Secretary starts Taiwan visit

Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has issued a press statement at 14:15hrs today saying that China had sent multiple J-10 and J-11 fighters across the middle line of the Taiwan Strait from 09:00 local time this morning.

RAF P-8 tracks Russian warship for the first time

A Royal Air Force P-8 has completed the first tracking of a Russian warship on Aug. 3.

RAF P-8A Poseidon and Typhoon overflys Vasily Bykov over the North Sea.
A Royal Air Force (RAF) P-8 Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) completed its first operational mission this week shadowing a Russian warship in the North Sea near to UK waters.
On Monday morning, a P-8A Poseidon from 120 Squadron based at Kinloss Barracks demonstrated its speed and readiness by completing a prolonged overwatch of the Russian warship, Vasily Bykov, as it passed through the North Sea. It did so with support from Typhoon Fighters, based at RAF Lossiemouth and the VIP Voyager refuelling aircraft, stationed at RAF Brize Norton.

U.S. Army carrying out CH-47 training at Eareckson Air Station

The U.S. Army is bring two CH-47 helicopters to Eareckson Air Station on Shemya Island in the Aleutian Island Chain for long-range navigation training.

The COBRA DANE radar is a single faced ground-based, L-band phased-array radar
located at Eareckson Air Station, Shemya, Alaska. The primary mission of COBRA DANE is to collect radar metric and signature data on foreign ballistic missile events. Additional missions include collecting space surveillance data on new foreign launches and satellites in low-earth orbit. The radar has a 95-foot diameter phased array and the capability to track and record data on as many as 120 objects simultaneously.
