U.S. Navy pilot killed in A-29 crash

The U.S. Navy has disclosed that one of its pilot was killed in a A-29 mishap at Red Rio Bombing Range on Jun. 22.

An A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft arrives at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, April 24, 2018. The 81st Fighter Squadron received the aircraft to help continue the Afghan light air support training mission, which ultimately provides Afghan pilots with the capabilities of finding, tracking and attacking targets either on their own or in support of ground forces. USAF wants to upgrade the B-52H’s external wing pylon

The current external wing pylon on the B-52H bomber can only carry weapons up to 5,000 lbs. The U.S. Air Force is seeking a new external weapons pylon that can carry up to 20,000 lbs of weapons.
