MQ-9 carries out first landing on a dirt landing zone

In a groundbreaking achievement for the Air Force Special Operations Command, the MQ-9 Reaper, a remotely piloted aircraft, has accomplished its inaugural landing on a dirt landing zone. This milestone was made possible by the collaborative efforts of the 2nd Special Operations Squadron, 727th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 311th Special Operations Intelligence Squadron, and the 26th Special Tactics Squadron.

97th AMW will mark 100th anniversary of air refueling on Jun. 27

On Jun. 27, the United States Air Force (USAF) will commemorate a significant milestone in aviation history—the 100th anniversary of air refueling. The USAF’s 97th Air Mobility Wing has devised a grand celebration to honor this achievement.

Embraer and FAB unveil plans for A-29 Super Tucano midlife upgrade program

Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) have commenced midlife upgrade (MLU) studies for the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft. The A-29, currently utilized by the FAB for training, air interception, and surveillance missions, as well as by the renowned Air Demonstration Squadron (EDA), known as the “Smoke Squadron,” will undergo enhancements to meet evolving requirements.
