Pentagon blocks Turkish request to hire F-16 instructors from Pakistan

The coup in Turkey last year has thinned the ranks of its F-16 pilots and Turkey had wanted to recruit instructors from Pakistan to train more pilots. However, the move has been blocked by the Pentagon.

RCAF CF-18s have taken over NATO Air Policing mission in Romania

The Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 detachment at Mihail Kogalniceau Airbase, Romania for NATO’s enhanced Air Policing mission has been declared fully operational.

USS Wasp underway for Japan, to replace USS Bonhomme Richard

The U.S. Navy announced that USS Wasp (LHD 1) has departed for Sasebo, Japan, Aug. 30. The ship will replace USS Bonhomme Richard as the 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed amphibious assault ship.
