Just as the Indian Army was preparing to phase out its Nishant UAV fleet, the last remaining aircraft crashed near Pokhran in Rajasthan on Nov. 19.

The Indian Army has decided not to proceed with phase 2 of the indigenous Nishant unmanned aerial vehicle program after three of the four aircraft delivered under phase 1 were lost in crashes.
