Sweden secures production slots for four C-390 transport aircraft

Sweden has officially committed to acquiring four C-390 aircraft from Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer, securing necessary production slots as part of a joint European procurement effort. The announcement was made during the LAAD Defence & Security 2025 exhibition in Rio de Janeiro on Apr. 1.

Metrea secures Indian Air Force refuelling training contract

Metrea, a leading provider of commercial air-to-air refueling (AAR) services, announced on Mar. 31 that it has been awarded a contract with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to enhance their air-to-air refuelling training capabilities. Under the terms of the agreement, Metrea will provide KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft based out of Indian Air Force Station Agra in Central India. This significant contract is set to considerably expand the IAF’s AAR training capacity, thereby improving their overall operational readiness.

Jakarta meeting seeks to revive stalled KF-21 fighter program

Defense officials from South Korea and Indonesia have recently convened in Jakarta in a bid to breathe new life into the troubled KF-21 joint fighter jet development program. The high-level meeting, the first of its kind since a sensitive technology leak incident involving Indonesian engineers came to light, saw Seoul’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) head, Seok Jong-gun, engage with Indonesian Vice Defense Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto to discuss avenues for bolstering defense cooperation, with the KF-21 initiative taking center stage.

Dutch Air Force first to fly Pilatus’ new PC-7 MKX trainer

Pilatus has secured a significant win with the Royal Netherlands Air Force choosing its PC-7 MKX training system as the cornerstone of their basic training program. This contract, which includes eight aircraft and associated training systems, is slated to deliver the first aircraft from the first half of 2027. The PC-7 MKX platform is based on the PC-7 Mk II, which has a well-established reputation for reliability. Netherlands becomes the launch customer of the PC-7 MKX with the contract signing.
