The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has canceled its $879 million deal with Airbus for 12 H225M Caracal multirole helicopters. The cancellation was confirmed by Muammar Abdulla Abushehab, defense and security industry affairs sector chief for the Tawazun council, in an exclusive interview with Breaking Defense.
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, a company based in Poway, California, has secured a contract to supply Taiwan with four MQ-9B SkyGuardian unmanned air vehicles. The contract, which is valued at $217.6 million, also includes two Certifiable Ground Control Stations, spares, and support equipment. The work is expected to be completed by May 5, 2025, and will be performed in Poway.

The Defense Project Promotion Committee has endorsed a $1.15 billion plan to acquire the helicopters through 2028, according to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
